Thornspike was bored. Deathly bored. And when this young ShadowClan warrior was bored, she would raid ThunderClan's border. Possibly the border patrol, if there were any. She strolled to the ThunderClan border and after looking aorund, leaped onto a rock on the ThunderClan side. She marked it, proclaiming it belonged to ShadowClan. Standing up, she looked around--ThunderClan had so many green trees! How could they stand it? Then again, she figured, they were as used to it as ShadowClan cats were to their dark pine forests. Wanting to be noticed by some ThunderClan patrol, she yowled. Then, she waited.

Willowstar felt that something wasn't right. She was patrolling the ThunderClan border with ShadowClan. ThunderClan was short on warriors, and until more warriors were made, she would have to patrol herself.
As Willowstar past a large oak tree, she stiffened. A new scent hit her nose besides the usual forest smells. ShadowClan! She scented the air again to be sure. Yes! A ShadowClan cat was on her territory. She unsheathed her claws and crouched. By the smell, there was only one, hardly a threat. Willowstar felt her muscles rippling under her sleek coat and readied herself to scare off this ShadowClan warrior.
She crept through the trees until she came to a bush. She looked around it and saw a tortoiseshell she-cat sitting on a large rock in ThunderClan territory. Willowstar growled and stalked out of the undergrowth.
"So, have ShadowClan lost all their morals? Or are they so mouse-brained they can't even remember where the borders are?" she hissed maliciously. "If you haven't noticed, you are on MY territory. I suggest you leave at once."

Thornspike smiled sweetly with a glint of mischief in her eyes. She stood up and stretched on the rock, swatting at a suicidal butterfly passing by with a yawn. She faced Willowstar. "If we were mice, we wouldn't have borders," Thornspike commented innocently. "But since we aren't mice, thank StarClan, we are left being mice-brained. I'm sorry, dear Willowstar, but ThunderClan has forgotten their borders." Here Thornspike marked a fallen tree trunk on the ThunderClan side, knowing Willowstar would not appreciate this. She cackled silently, loving every second of this adventure.

Willowstar hissed. This ShadowClan warrior was getting under her fur. Fine, she thought angrily, if this cat wants to fight, then lets fight.
Willowstar lunged at the warrior, raking her claws down its back with satisfaction. "What is Pinestar teaching her mangy warriors these day?" She hissed in the tortoiseshell's ear.

Thornspike yelped, but soon regained her own control. She spat at the leader and shot a paw toward her forehead--and quite possibly eyes--with unnaturally quick speed, it seemed. However, her only still was speed--she was otherwise a very weak cat. She could feel herself being pushed down by Willowstar, so she did her best defense; she attempted to spit in the other cat's eyes. She started to panic...she had obviously gone a little too far with this raid.

Willowstar felt her head throb where the cat had hit her, but knew the she-cat was growing tired. So, with one last bite at her tail, she got off of the warrior and hissed, "Leave now!" Willowstar hoped this warrior would get the message and get off her territory.

Thornspike sent one last paw flying at the ThunderClan cat and then she scampered out of ThunderClan. She stood on the ShadowClan side, arching her back and hissing, somewhat playfully as if she hadn't just gotten in a dangerous fight. "You can't stop me from coming back!" And with that she turned and strutted toward ShadowClan camp as if nothing had happened.

Willowstar spat. At the next gathering, I must mention to Pinestar all about her warriors' misbehavior. She has got to teach them some manners. She turned and stalked back to the camp.
